i spent all night writing an 31 page annotated bibliography for my psycho-Emily-Dickinson-worshipping literature teacher. anger and relief now.
Question: Has anyone ever gotten a card in the mail from their bank-teller? Because I did. I went to the bank to deposit a couple of checks. The teller asked what I do for LISD and I told him. He then told me that he and some friends tutor kids in Denton. I remember thinking, "am I supposed to be impressed?" We exchanged the have-a-good-day and I left. A few days later I received a hand-written card in the mail that said the following,
"Katherine, I just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you how great it was to visit with you while handling you deposit. I look forward to seeing you next time you swing by the bank. Please let me know how I can help you anytime. Have a great day. Thanks, name. -Lead Teller PS: If you have any banking questions please call: (phone number)."
Is this weird or is it just me?!

I saw a man on television last night who had covered his body in lettuce and was allowing manatees to feed upon him. Now that's entertainment.

Would you rather be a CD or a book?

I went to the chiropractor on Thursday. The muscle relaxors and Anti-inflammatories the other doc gave me helped the tense, shooting, stabbing , aching but, for some reason, he doesn't want me living on them. X-rays show that my spine is somewhat snake-like, and my neck curves back slightly where it's supposed to curve forward. She cracked some stuff and told me to come back everyday next week. Awesome. She also told me to sleep on a special pillow and to never sleep on my stomach. I don't, at least, I didn't. I woke up this morning on my stomach after sleeping with the special pillow. go figure.
In spite of all that, I really like the doctor. She gave me the impression that she liked what she was doing, not in a sick, "Haha now I get to snap your neck" kind of way, more of a "I'm sorry this is happening to you, please let me fix it" kind of way. She knows what she's talking about, and likes it. How refreshing.

Prom. Borrowed my parents' big fat truck/SUV thing and chauffeured 1/3 of the group down to Dallas last night for prom. The Senior girls this year were my first small-group Bible study when they were just wee little eighth graders, and now they're all grown up. *sigh* They looked...incredible.
Hung out downtown for a while. Caught a guy peeing on the JFK memorial. His daughter warned him we were coming just in the nick of time. What a sick-o. Steve taught us a cool new phrase that we threw around in excess. Then we wormed our way over to pick up the promers and carted them home. Grand evening.
Question: Why does "Cheese" need to advertise? or milk? or avocados? Where does that money go? I don't understand...it's not a brand. anyone know?

So about that Switchfoot World Tour review I promised... it was fantastic. I'm not going to write any details because it seems lame after waiting this long to blog. I thoroughly enjoyed myself though, so thanks friends.
About the idea that Brent mentioned... it's just an idea... Hard to explain. Harder to write. Half of it though is this:
I want to study the psychology or marketing or the psychology of marketing. I want to know what the media tells us, how they tell it to us, why they tell it to us that way. Then I want to teach teenage girls all the lies they're being fed, and the tricks that are used to feed said lies. Then I want to point to the hope that we have, and teach them to renew their minds. I want to provide a time when they can be quiet, no media, no lies. And I want God to heal their...our... tainted hearts. If they...we...I... truly understood how much He loves us...

If I fall asleep right now I will get five and a half hours of sleep. yikes. I have a lot to do and even more to think about. Anyone have any creative ideas on how to teach mid-schoolers that Jesus loves them, that He died for them, that He rose again for them, and that they need Him? Easter Sunday school lessons have proved more difficult than expected.
Going to Austin. won't be blogging. review of Switchfoot tour soon to follow.
